One of the most exciting parts of choir life is the opportunity to share our joy of singing to a large variety of audiences both nationally and internationally. Working together towards a touring adventure engenders a wonderful camaraderie and team spirit and stirs a fresh enthusiasm and excitement amongst all members of the choir community.
National tours involve regional, state and interstate travel. These generally occur as day trips to Sydney and Regional Hunter Valley; weekend ventures to Canberra; and, on occasion, longer ventures of up to 14-days going inter-state.
Over the past 4 decades, we have been presented with numerous opportunities to travel further afield, and these opportunities have taken us to Wales, England, Denmark, Finland, Japan, Canada, China, Italy, Prague and the USA. Particular highlights include singing at the World Expo in Shanghai (2010), performing for Pope Benedict II in St Peter’s Basilica (2012), and accepting our latest invitation to premiere an Australian work in Carnegie Hall, New York (2020).
Members from school year 8 and above are eligible to travel as choristers on international tours, and all choristers must have fees paid up to date, and have over 75% rehearsal attendance to be eligible for tours.
